The Backwoods Adventure Mods Overland Bed Rack, Mid Height, gives a 2007–2027 Toyota Tundra short bed a lower mounting platform for a rooftop tent, bikes, a spare tire or recovery gear. It bolts straight onto 3rd gen trucks, and 2nd gen trucks need the factory bed tracks. Long bed trucks can run it too, but it won't span the full bed.

It stands just 10 in above the bed rails, which keeps a tent closer to the cab line and cuts drag compared with the full height version. The rack is all aluminum at about 45 lb, with C-channel top crossbars for side-to-side stiffness and modular side panels for lights, traction boards and bike trays. It comes in black powder coat.

Installation is 100% bolt-on, and Backwoods Adventure Mods' install video covers both the mid and full height racks. Accessories in the photos are sold separately. Backwoods Adventure Mods backs the structure with a lifetime warranty, and we ship it free within the contiguous U.S.

Questions we get

Will it fit my bed length?The Tacoma and Tundra racks are built for short beds. On a Tundra long bed the rack fits but won't span the full bed.
Does my 2nd gen Tundra need anything extra?Yes. 2007–2021 Tundras need the factory bed tracks installed first; 3rd gen trucks bolt up directly.
What does the Gladiator need?OEM or aftermarket bed rails must be installed before the rack goes on.
Will a rooftop tent clear the cab?The rack sits about level with the cab. For a long wedge tent, add the DRIFTR topper for roughly 4–5 in more height.
Can I mount storage boxes?Yes. BAM's aluminum box mounts one per side on Tacoma and Gladiator, and up to two per side on the Tundra full height rack.
