Backwoods Adventure Mods built this rear bumper for 2022–2027 Toyota Tundra trucks to follow the factory body lines while adding real trail protection. It sits higher than the stock bumper for better clearance, gives you a no-slip step, and puts proper recovery points on the back of the truck.

Construction is full steel in black powder coat, and the whole bumper weighs 85 lb. Two steel mounts accept 3/4 in recovery shackles. Pockets in the face take optional Baja Designs S2 flush-mount lights, and a blank-off plate is included if you skip the lighting. There is a cutout for the trailer plug and an easy relocation for the factory tag lights.

It is a direct bolt-on that one person can install with no cutting or wire splicing. The factory hitch stays in place, so your tow rating is unchanged, and the factory sensors are retained. Questions we get

Will I keep my rear parking sensors?On the 2022+ Tundra, yes. On the 2016–2023 Tacoma Hi-Lite, no: the factory rear sensors don't carry over. The backup camera reroutes on both without splicing.

Do I have to cut the truck?The 2016–2023 Tacoma Hi-Lite needs a bedside cut, and edge trim is included to finish it. The Tundra bumper is a direct bolt-on with no cutting.

Can I still tow?Yes. The Tacoma Hi-Lite has its own high-clearance 2 in receiver with a trailer harness extension, and the Tundra bumper keeps the factory hitch so the tow rating is unchanged.

Can I add lights?The Tacoma Hi-Lite takes Pathfinder scene lights and the Tundra bumper takes Baja Designs S2 flush mounts. The Tundra version includes a blank-off plate if you skip them.

Does the Tundra bumper work with the Toyota rear step?No, it isn't compatible with Toyota's optional rear step.

When is the 4th gen Tacoma bumper available?Backwoods is still developing it and hasn't set a release date. Contact us and we'll let you know when it can be ordered.
