The REDARC BCDC Alpha50 R is a 12V, 50A DC-DC battery charger that keeps your start and auxiliary batteries charged from the alternator while you drive and from solar while you're parked. REDARC calls it a true battery manager: it changes charge mode in real time to suit the battery, and Green Power Priority draws on solar first to ease the load on the alternator.

It accepts 9–32V DC from the start battery and 9–48V DC from solar and charges all common automotive battery types, including standard and heated lithium (LiFePO4). The included Smart Battery Monitor tells apart current going into the battery and current going to your loads, and the RedVision app shows state of charge, time remaining and charger performance over Bluetooth. A flat start battery can be recovered in as little as 15 minutes, and input current can be capped for alternators with little spare output, hybrids and EVs.

Wiring uses screw connections and a pushbutton interface. The unit is not suitable for engine bay installation, and REDARC recommends fitting by a qualified auto electrician. It carries a 2-year REDARC warranty, and we ship it free within the contiguous U.S.
